ABOUT

Curator and author, Juan Gutiérrez-Maupomé:

"Small light sculptures that seem to float above their bases, the image of the ethereal...
Rough surfaces, playful surfaces, like tactile invitations...
Over a flat monochromatic surface, the ethereal figures re-appear, now as images. They stand there, floating about, contrasted against the solid colour of the background.

There are echoes all over the place, references, invitations. There is a wish to induce the viewer into the intimate world.

It is a world of dis-connected relationships, figures that appear as isolated. Relationships are subtle, as they can be. But in the world of invitations, it is the echoes, the references, which open the doors to the relationships universe.

Images and sculptures are like windows, or small cracks in the wall, through which we can see the world with a different gaze, so that we can build, through echoes and invitations, the relationships that the objects propose. In a painting, two faceless figures look at each other. What was before dispersed, comes together differently, recreating its meaning, transcending. Thus happens as well within us, when we stand in front of her images, her figures, her rough, sometimes playful surfaces."

Arne Magnus Johnsrød, Professor i tradisjonskunst, Høyskolen i Telemark, avdeling Rauland:
